When the Memphis Urban Area MPO contacted Hornsby Brand Design they were in desperate need of a complete rebranding program. Our challenge was to strengthen the position and image of the MMPO by presenting them as an independent agency, a viable resource for important transportation-related information, and a catalyst for public involvement. The goal was to create a cohesive brand look throughout ALL touch points.
The MMPO faced outreach, image (outdated), and accessibility (website ease-of-use and maintenance) issues. They also felt they were misunderstood as a regional agency. The goal was to position the organization as a regional entity, meaning its reach is broader than the general consensus.
We have laid the foundation for the new brand by creating all touch points with a modern and inclusive feel. We specifically created the new logo and tagline, produced four, 3-minute videos that included six area mayors, a responsive website, brochure collateral, and a PR campaign for a $1.3 million regional survey initiative.
The complete website solution we provided (design, development, training, support & maintenance) is educational, informative, user-friendly, and attractive. It incorporates a calendar of activities, interactive indexing of transportation projects, a photo/video gallery, social media integration, translation capabilities, GIS mapping system, and survey abilities. It is also SEO-optimized, to maximize its reach, and is mobile, desktop and tablet friendly (responsive design).
Our award-winning work has made it easier for the MPO’s clients, employees, and constituents to access relevant information, interact with team leaders, and participate in community events. The reactions from the general public have been very positive.
